How to Apply

The Placement Coordination Service of the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) of the Ministry of Health is responsible for the application process to Bethany Lodge and to all other Long Term Care Facilities in the province‚ that are funded by the Ministry of Health. Application for residence in Bethany Lodge must be made through the CCAC.

Tours are available on Tuesday at 11AM & the last Thursday of the month at 4:30 PM. Please meet at Reception‚ no appointement is necessary.

The CCAC provides a service which is client focused—respecting the clients choices and the needs of the client and family‚ while being efficient and using the bed resources as effectively as possible.

Selecting an appropriate Long-Term Care home is an important decision. Many factors must be taken into consideration when making the important choice including: closeness to family members‚ type of care required (ie. Alzheimer’s)‚ type of accommodation sought (ie. Private) and how much one likes the facility. You may also want to ask for the latest Ministry of Health compliance review.

When a client's needs are assessed during the Intake process‚ if the client requests assistance with placement or there appears to be a need for placement‚ the Case Manager will commence the application process. The client is then referred to a Placement Coordinator whose role is to assist clients who may require placement in a Long-Term Care Centre (a nursing home or home for the aged). The Placement Coordinator works with the client and family to complete the necessary forms and applications and to select Centres that will best suit the client and family.

Once the application process is complete‚ the Placement Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the availability of beds in the facility(s) of choice and offering a bed to the client when one becomes available. This process is highly regulated for the placement process.

Once a client is on the Bethany Lodge waiting list‚ the CCAC monitors the waiting list as placements become available.

Our staff will guide the resident and family members through the admission process. Staff understand the unique needs of each resident and will provide residents with an orientation of the facility.

Staff representing a variety of medical and rehabilitative specialties conduct a clinical evaluation to establish and individualized care program centered around specific needs.
